AmeriCorps

Habitat AmeriCorps members help local habitats and nonprofits across the state of Iowa engage communities, build homes, and mobilize volunteers to expand opportunities for low-income families to have safe and affordable housing in Iowa. Habitat for Humanity of Iowa operates an AmeriCorps State program. The AmeriCorps State members focus on providing direct services through construction and community outreach.

AmeriCorps State: 

 

30 members serve 3, 6, 9, & 12 month commitments at local affiliates. These service minded individuals focus on direct service projects through

  • construction,

  • disaster response

  • community engagement,

  • volunteer mobilization,

  • and more. 

AmeriCorps is a government funded program designed to engage Americans in full or part time service to help their local communities and build the skills and experience of the member. Habitat for Humanity of Iowa has worked in collaboration with the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) and Volunteer Iowa to provide service opportunities across the state of Iowa since 2001.
