Kylee is currently serving as a construction AmeriCorps member at Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity. Her service term involves a commitment of 300 hours over the summer, which is integral to her internship requirements for her interior design degree at Iowa State University.
Kylee's experience not only contributes to her academic journey but also supports the mission of Habitat for Humanity, helping to create affordable housing solutions in the community. Kylee is learning the ins and outs of construction which will help her better understand interior design for her future career and studies. A unique part of Kylee's summer of AmeriCorps service is that she first days were spent in Greenfield, Iowa building 2 new homes for survivors of the 2024 tornados.
After completing her summer of service, Kylee will go back to Iowa State University to finish her degree in interior design. Upon completion she will be awarded with the Eli Segal Education Award which she plans to use towards her goal of studying abroad.
