Different Things Everyday - Destiny's Spotlight

Today we are introducing our #AmeriCorps members from across the state for #AmeriCorpsWeek. Destiny Frederick is serving as construction member on our Mobile Response Team headquartered at Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity. Destiny is joining us from Colorado and is currently a student of biology at the University of Colorado and plans attend University of Iowa studying next fall. She will be using the education award to go towards this continuing education.

What inspired you to serve?
I want to do work that impacts the lives of people in a positive way. Habitat for Humanity's mission to provide affordable housing and help communities aligns with my values. … Providing this service to others would be extremely rewarding for me. I also enjoy working on construction projects on my own time, though I am still learning a lot.
What do you enjoy most about serving?
I like doing different things every day and learning new things.
